The DJ who started it all

Dj AM is a name that will reside in the minds of many music lovers for centuries to come. Dj Am aka  Adam Goldstein, was a pioneer in the world of DJs, more so known as the first millionaire Dj ever. He had an inspiring track list ranging from Hip-Hop beats to electronic music, you could hear his sound in most clubs or featured in music of his time. When you are on the top it is hard to stay there without the temptation of drugs, alcohol, money, and fame. However, those addictions were not the driving force for his career, his passion for being a Dj and his determination to get better is what made him rise to the top. Like most people on top they eventually fall, unfortunately, Dj Am literally fell 30,000 feet out of the sky as his plane crashed. He remarkably survived the crash however he was mentally and emotionally scarred from his near death experience. He was later found dead in his New York apartment in August 2009 after overdosing.

So even after the death of AM, his story lives on. He has been an inspiration for many big DJs such as Diplo, Skrillex, and Steve Aoki. He was not only a mentor but a friend, many of these DJs use AM"s influence in their music to pay tribute to one of the greatest the world has ever known. It is because of him that the music became as popular as it today. Now there are thousands of DJs that are playing festivals and bringing together avid listeners of the genre to create a movement.  Electric Dance Music is not dying, it is growing and blossoming into the new norm of this generation's music. His name will not be in vein and his legacy will live on. Dj AM was arguably the best DJ the world had seen when he was at his peak of stardom. It is tragic to seem him go but he is an example of what DJing was, and also an unfortunate example of what the industry can do to you
